Mothers Day: The out takes...

This year I had a meeting the day before Mother's Day so my wonderful hubby tried to help make all my Mother's Day wishes come true. One of which was the cute photos where the kids hold up the letters spelling Mom. I don't know where he came up with the thought that I might love one of those (I am sure he didn't get an email from me letting him know just that. lol!). After I left he tried his best to take the photos of the boys to make the gift happen for me. As you can see from the photos below it was a great idea and great effort on his part but it just didn't work out.

Austin was too interested in watching "Trash Trucks" on daddy's phone to look up while holding his letter.

I have to give it to my sweet hubby-he definitely tried to make this happen for me.

Thanksgiving Crafts

Austin and I had some fun creating some more Thanksgiving crafts this week. This time we made a "Thanksgiving Tree" which we will write on leafs what we are thankful for and hang them on the tree.

Austin seems to really like his tree and wants to move it all around the playroom. He has put two leaves on there so far with the following items that he is thankful for "fun and mommy".

We also made a turkey puppet which feathers were made from Austin's hand prints. He really loves tracing his hand for some reason. He loved getting to glue the different pieces of the turkey together.

When I showed him that the turkey was also a puppet he thought that was the coolest thing ever. He walked around making his turkey "gobble, gobble, gobble"
Austin is really getting to a fun age and enjoys doing more activities and crafts and loves learning so much right now.

Thanksgiving Craft Play Date

We had a play date with Jenn and her kids Zoey and Gavin on Wen. Since Thanksgiving is quickly approaching I thought it would be fun to have a little turkey craft to help set the mood for the kids. The boys seemed to enjoy painting there turkeys-although there enjoyment seemed to come and go and was interrupted by playing on the swing set. Since it is unusually warm in the upper 70's this week we were able to take our craft outside which made it more fun.
Below is the finished product, I think they turned out pretty cute!
We tried to get the boys to stand beside each other and show off there turkeys they had made but you know how that can be with two three year olds that seem to have minds of there own.

Fathers Day Crafts

Boy were my boys busy making things for there Daddy & Grandpa's for Fathers Day this year. Austin spent hours (literally) painting and making things for them. Here are some pictures of him in action as well as of the finished master pieces.

Hudson working hard too!
Notice that he has 2 paint brushes one in each hand. He was a trip he would paint some and then throw his hands up and say "ta-da"!
What would Fathers Day be without a tie for Dad?
Since our "Daddy" is so super we had to make him a "Super Daddy" cape
Austin made Dad and his Papa's custom made hammers.

The orange print is Hudson's finger print and the aqua one is Austin's
This is a collage we made for his #1 Dad frame on his desk!

Holiday Craft Play Date

The boys each made a tree like this that they could put in the rooms at home. Its just a soda bottle filled with green paint and then they used stickers & pom-poms to decorate them.

I really like this reindeer craft. Austin made one at school this week, so we decided to borrow the idea and let the kids each make one. I think they look too cute on the tree.
Austin was working so hard here. Good thing he didn't notice the glue was closed.

Me and Austin hard at work
Austin had to take time to play with Zoe he was too cute talking to her. Hopefully he will like his little brother in a few months.
Jackson working hard
Zoe hanging out
The little guys kept forgetting what we were doing so they would stop & play for a while.
This is the only picture that we have that had Gavin in it.
Austin sat down and acted just like he knew what to do.
We had some friends over this morning for a play date to make some holiday crafts. Austin & Gavin are both 2 and had a hard time keeping there minds on the task of crafting but that's OK. Jackson who is 4 on the other hand took his job very seriously and did an amazing job on his tree. Over all we had a good time and nothing got messed up so it was a good day.

A homemade Christmas

Austin has recently really started enjoying coloring, using stickers & painting so I decided to put him to work. I am not going to lie when it came time to think about decorating this year for the holidays I wanted to just stress out. I am 7 months pregnant & have a 2 year old so all I could think is that between Austin & the 2 dogs I would be chasing them around for the month saying "no don't touch that" or "bring that back". So I decided to scale things back a bit the year and only put up some of the decorations (which of course Brad didn't mind since he is the one who has to pull it all down from the attic then put it all back up). I also decided that we would have a more homemade Christmas this year and let Austin make most of the decorations. So this past Sunday we put the tree up and Monday Austin and I got busy making some ornaments for the tree. We both had a lot of fun working on them~we spent most of the day decorating the ornaments. And this way I don't have to stress out if he wants to take something off the tree and play with it since they are all made of foam and hung with yarn rather than those metal things.

Cute Easter Idea

So things have been very crazy around our home the last week. I am sorry I have not posted anything on here. I will be uploading some photos and filling everyone in today or tomorrow. But for now, I just came across this cute little Easter centerpiece. And it seems super easy. To view step by step instructions check out No Fuss Fabulous here. I am going to attempt to make one of these myself. So I will be sure to post some photos of it.

I can't wait on Austin to get a little bit older so we can do more crafts together for the different holidays. I have been coming across some really cute ones recently. I think we might have to try one or both of these little crafts.
