Happy 6 Year Anniversary

Brad and I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary on June 5th. I could not have asked for a more amazing husband!

Below are pictures before our big date. Brad's parents came over and babysat the boys while we went out on a date. We started with dinner at Bonefish Grill (one of my favorite places), then we went and did a little shopping.

Our little Rolly Polly

Tonight while we were having tummy time Hudson rolled over from his tummy to his back for the 1st time. He did it multiple times tonight.
He almost rolled right off his blanket

After having some fun rolling around he decided to chill in his bumbo chair for a little while.
Daddy also got to feed Hudson a bottle for the first time tonight! Of course Austin wanted Daddy to hold him at the same time. Needless to say I think Brad got a glimpse of my life during the day while he is at work.

Pool Time

We had our first family outing to the neighborhood pool this morning! The weather was great, it was warm but cloudy out. Both boys were too cute sporting there swimsuits. Below is a photo of Hudson as we arrived to the pool.

Hudson pouring water on Grandpa! Check out Grandma's hot body!
Hudson passed out in the shade.
We were able to stay at the pool around an hour. Austin had a blast and made a little friend while he was there. Hudson and I both stuck our feet in the water, but that's as far as we ventured in.

5/31/10-6/6/10 Happenings

Below are some photos taken from my cell phone this week.

Hudson sleeping in my arms!
Hudson playing the roll of a "trashy baby", look at that belly.
Austin hanging out with no pants on. He has his shirt, shoes & socks so he is ready to go to any local store or restaurant ("no, shirt, no shoes, no service", he has that one covered).

In an effort to actually keep our family blog updated I am going to try and post the highlights from our family's week. So here goes our happenings from this week:

Monday 5/31/10: Memorial Day- We took the boys to the Nashville Zoo to explore the animals and have some family fun. You can see a whole post on our adventure here.

Tue. & Thur: Austin went to his teacher's house Mrs. Carmen for school. His actual school is out for summer but Mrs. Carmen is having "summer school" for Austin and Dawson (another boy in his class) along with her 3 kids. He loves it over there!

Wen: we had a play date with Mrs. Jenn, Gavin & Zoe.

Friday morning as I was cleaning out my purse Austin points to some coupons and says "Mommies Money". Too funny! Every Sunday morning as I am pulling the coupons out of the newspaper he is always trying to play with them (he loves putting the paper in a pile and jumping in it like a pile of leaves). I always tell him "please don't jump on these and mess them up, its money". Guess he actually does listen to what I tell him.

Hudson discovered his little feet this week and now loves to pull them up with his hands so he can check them out. He also has really been working on trying to roll over again. He seems to favor rolling onto his left side. He will get over on his side and then try to look the other way so he ends up rolling back onto his little back. He also graduated into size 2 diapers this week. Which mommy was very excited about because now I can buy the Target UP&UP diapers for him in the big box (huge $$$$ savings~we love these diapers for Austin).

Brad and I have been doing an at home version of Weight Watchers and both have had some great results. Brad has lost around 19 lbs so far since the beginning of May and I have lost around 12 lbs. I fit into a pair of jeans this week (they were actually loose) that I have not worn since before I had Austin.

Monthly Challenge/Goal

So in an effort to continue getting my house back in order I am going to start giving myself a monthly challenge/goal to complete. Hopefully over the course of a month I will be able to actually complete this task/goal. I am going to try and keep my blog updated weekly or so on how I am coming on completing my goal. I would like to challenge you guys to all do the same, we can help to motivate one another. I know I am more productive when I have someone to report my progress to.

So, for the month of June my monthly challenge/goal is to go through each of my closets in the house and clean them and get rid of anything that we don't need or that is not being used. The following are a list of each of the closets in my house:

master bedroom closet
coat closet
downstairs toy closet
pantry
upstairs linen closet
office/craft closet
Hudson's closet
Austin's closet

Some of these closets need more work than others. I figure I will work on two closets a week-one that needs more work and one that just needs to be picked up. I will try my best to post both before and after photos of each closet. Let me know if you are interested in joining me in this challenge.

Last day of school for Austin

Austin loved his Mothers Day Out (aka: school) program this year. We moved him to a new school this year that was closer to our house since we were pregnant with Hudson and knew that it would be hard to get him back and forth to school once Hudson arrived. I was a little nervous at the beginning of the school year about the new school, because we loved our old one so much.

Austin had a bumpy start with the school year and had lots of separation issues. It took him a long time to be OK in the mornings when I dropped him off. He had to take his Elmo or Mr. Giraffe with him everyday for security. A few months into the school year Austin got a new teacher "Mrs. Carmen" and suddenly he didn't mind going to school anymore. He loved Mrs. Carmen and suddenly also loved school. He learned a lot this year: number and letter recognition, counting, colors, animals and many other things.

The program had there end of the year program/graduation on 5/25/10. The kids learned the following songs to perform for everyone: "Jesus loves me", "The wheels on the bus" and "If your happy and you know it". Well for those of you who know Austin-you know that he is a little show off and that anytime there is a crowd and a stage he thinks everyone is there to see him perform. Well graduation was no different, he truly thought he was the main attraction for the show. All of the kids in the program came into the sanctuary and lined up on the stage area and some how Austin was front row center stage (out of around 75 kids). As they are all lined up Austin pretends to fall off the stairs of the stage. So ones everyone realizes he is OK they start laughing . Which just encouraged him, so he got some of his little buddy's to join him in falling off the stage area. Then when it was just there classes turn to sing there songs he starts falling down basically doing the "inch-worm dance" across the stage. Its one of those moments as a parent you don't know weather to laugh at or hide. Everyone was laughing and it was cute at first but he didn't stop. He is a mess. After the program the school provided cookies and juice for everyone.

The picture below is of him on the 1st and last day of school this year.

Look how cute he is with his little back pack

Playing with his umbrella that Mrs. Carmen made for him. Each kid received one that had there names painted on it along with bugs and frogs. Too cute!

3 Months Old

On May 15th Hudson turned 3 months old. He is such an amazing baby, he is so happy. He eats about every 3-4 hours and is a very good eater. He loves laying on his play mats and talking to his little friends that hang down. He also loves watching anything his brother does.
He has been sleeping great at night he only gets up 1 time usually between 3 & 4am to eat, but he sleeps through the night many nights as well. He is still sleeping in our bedroom in his moses basket, I need to make the transition of him moving to his room but I am not ready yet.

He has discovered his little hands and loves sucking on them. He has also rolled over one time while he was laying on our bed. He tried for 2 or 3 weeks so hard to roll over for the 1st time then he did it for the 1st time but has not really tried again (almost like OK, I know I can do this). He loves talking and smiling and also blows bubbles a lot.

loves chewing on those hands and fingers

Big Brother had to join in the pictures too.
