Puppy Love

We love our puppies!  Since we have had the boys the dogs don't get as much love from us as they used to.  However, now its not just us that show them love, the boys love Bernie and Chloe so much!  Last night while they were playing good guys/bad guys the dogs even got to play.  Bernie was a good dog and Chloe was a bad dog because she threw bombs.
Chloe loves laying on our sofa in the family room.  Some times she even gets covered up on the really cold nights.
Some nights I will even put Bernie up on the sofa too for bed.
Bernie and Chloe are best buddies!
Bernie does not get to go on as many car rides as he used to.  Lets face it, most days I do good to keep up with the boys when we are out-the last thing I need is something furry to keep up with.  Bernie went to the doggie spa this month and got a nice bubble bath and a hair cut-doesn't he look so cute. He loved riding in the back seat between the boys (I am sure it had nothing to do with the endless treasures of old snacks he probably found between the car seats).

At home Beach Day

The temps have been so HOOOOOTTTTTTTT here this summer and we can only go outside to play early in the morning or just a little before dark.  Today Austin came up with the idea of having a beach day.
He told me just how to set it all up with the pool right beside the sand table (we had the sand and the water) not to mention the fact that the sand table umbrella added a little shade to the pool.  I also had our patio umbrella where it was trying to shade the pool as much as possible.
After both boys were all wet they decided it was time to swing.  Austin stepped it up with his big brother duties and pushed Hudson on the swing.
We also decided to soak the dogs down with water too so they would stay cool and also gave them baths too,  Notice Bernie hiding under the sand table trying to catch a break from the sun.
After the dogs baths it was back to work-Hudson decided it was a good time to mow the backyard.  Such a devoted little worker!
Then it was time for another pool break
Hudson also thought it was a good idea to hide Austin under the big yellow tub (notice Austin under it in the photo above).
Above the dogs are trying to catch some shade by a bush.

Winter Wonderland

We actually got a little snow yesterday here in TN. Austin was so excited and was very quick to tell us what it was doing outside "it snowing outside". Of course that meant that he wanted to go outside and play in the 'SNOW". So thanks to Grandma & Grandpa he had actual snow gear this year-I am talking snow boots, snow gloves and a full on snow suit. It took us about mins. to get Austin all suited up and ready to go outside and he loved it. He wanted to play outside and check out the snow in his house (his playhouse-swing set).

Here he is trying to catch some snow in his mouth.
All suited up and waiting on Daddy to take him outside to play
Hudson decided to sit this one out and just watch his big brother play from the window
Of course our fur babies had to play some too. Chloe loved chasing the snow
Bernie loved chasing Chloe

I think Austin had fun in the snow and would have stayed outside in it all day if we would have let him.

OUr 4 legged Fur Babies

Since we have had kids it seems that our first born children have taken the backseat to our lives. We used to treat our dogs like they were our children, now we just try to remember to feed them most days. Its not that we don't love them just the same as we did before we had kids, its just life is so much busier these days. So here is a post devoted just to our fur babies!

Chloe Marie: she is our Boxer who will be 5 years old in December. When we got her she had so much energy and everyone told us if you can make it through the first year she will calm down, then it was the 2nd year then the third. Well she is now almost 5 years old and still as crazy as the day we brought her home. She has calmed down some, but she still has so much energy. She now spends a lot of her days laying on the red sofa in our family room down stairs. She was never allowed on the sofas before we had kids, however now that we have two I hardly notice her laying on it. She used to sleep in our bed at night however since Hudson was born she is not allowed in our bedroom anymore. Chloe loves playing outside when the weather is not too hot or too cold or raining, you might say she is a bit of a diva. She loves chasing birds and flys around outside-she has brought me a few birds and even a humming bird before that she has caught. She is such a loving dog and very smart. Yes, our dog seems to be a genius, she knows how to open doors (we had to change half our doorknobs in our house so she could not open doors as she pleases. She also knows how to get ice or water out of the door of our freezer-she often uses the ice as her bell or signal to us that she wants to go outside.
Bernie Mack: he was our first fur Baby, we got him before we were ever married. He turned 7 years old this Easter. He is a little old man dog but still has some spunk in him. He loves running around outside chasing Chloe. He spends most of his days laying on Chloe's big bed that she doesn't use or looking out our dining room window. He loves to get his belly rubbed.
Both the dogs are good with the boys. Austin loves chasing them around and telling them what to do.

Puppy Love

Hudson has recently got to be around the dogs a little more and he loves them. He just laughs and smiles anytime he is around them.
