Hudson Alexander was born February 15, 2010 @ 9:47 pm, weighing in at 7 lbs 14 oz and 20.5 in long.
Brad had a meeting for work near our house on Monday and was able to work from home some that day. I started having contractions around 2pm (nothing very strong, but they were consistent). So when Brad got home we called the doctor just to see what they said. Of course they wanted me to come in so they could check me. We arrived at the office around 4pm and I mentioned to the doctor that it felt like I was leaking a little so they checked me and sure enough my water had broken a little-there was no big gush at that time like people say. So they sent us over to the hospital to have a baby. They got us into a room around 5pm and around 5:30pm my doctor came in and broke my water the rest of the way and I was already dilating more than I had been the hour before in the office. I was having my epidural by 6:40pm, which actually took this time (with Austin I had 3 epidurals and 2 spinal blocks and still felt it all) so I was much happier with this delivery! I started pushing around 9:30 pm and Hudson was here a few pushes later.
Its so amazing to meet you child for the first time and in that one moment wonder how your family got by with out them before. I feel our family is complete now.
Hudson was so alert when he was born his eyes were wide open ready to check out the world around him.
