Little Thumb Sucker
Neither one of my boys ever wanted a paci which is a good thing in the long run I suppose. However, it looks as though Hudson is going to be a thumb sucker. He is always sucking on his thumb.
I laid him on the floor of my office along with a blanket he could suck/chew on but he decided it was more fun to cover his head up with it and play peek-a-boo with it. Oh, and to suck his thumb.

Carrot time
We had steamed baby carrots for dinner tonight so I figured it was a good time for Hudson to try them for the first time. I pureed him some while they were still warm and he seemed to really like them.
Below is a photo of his expression after the first taste
Of course Austin wanted to try some too. Here is Hudson at the end of his meal-covered and stained from the carrots

Trying not to sweat the small things.
Most days I would not allow Austin to do this but today I am thinking its really ok. He is sitting in Hudson's bumbo chair on the sofa while eating fruitloops!

Just a normal day at our house
Austin LOVES playing with his cars. He will drive them around the house and make them "crash" into each other. He loves lining them ALL up in a row (all 100 of them). He as also started multitasking while playing cars and parking the littler cars in the bigger ones. Notice Doc and Mater catching a ride on the fire truck.

The Hooper's come to visit
My best friend from high school Laura and her daughter (Austin's future wife) Ava came to visit us for a few days. It was the first time that just the girls have come to visit us since I moved to TN. We had a great visit and the kids loved playing together.
Below Austin and Ava are playing in Chloe's dog cage. They thought it was so much fun! If only we could lock them in there sometimes. Just Kidding!
They both wanted out of Austin's room. It looks like I keep my children behind bars.Ava kept wanting to lay down in Austin's bed with him and go to sleep. We thought it was cute-although in a few years this just might get them in trouble.
Here is Laura holding Hudson
We also took the kids to the soft playground at the mall since it was so hot outside. They were so cute following each other around.

Busy day 7/11/10
We started our day by meeting Grandma & Grandpa at Uncle Dave Macon Days (a festival where they bring an old town village back to life). It was soooo hot today.
Here are Brad and Hudson trying to find some shade.
Grandpa and Austin walking in the rocks
Since it was sooooo hot outside at Uncle Dave Macon days we decided to head to The Discovery Center to meet Toot & Puddle". Austin would not sit down with them for me to take a picture. He was very interested in them, touching them and giving them high fives.
Finally a place that Hudson can play too. They have a cute little room just for babies that has mats and mirrors.Grandma and Austin playing at the water table

Playing grocery store
Daddy took Austin down the big slide. Not sure which one had more fun

Let the teething begin...
So I am pretty sure that Hudson has started teething. His hands or fingers are always in his mouth, his chin and clothes are always wet from slober and he has been running a low grade fever. He is still my happy smiling boy though. We have been giving him teething toys and things to chew on to help him. I had a lady tell me about a new really cool teething toy recently, so I picked one up at Target this weekend. They come in either a grape or strawberry shape and its a teething toy they put in there mouth and it vibrates to help sooth them when they clamp down on it.
So far Hudson seems to like it, we still have to help him hold it in his mouth. Big Brother Austin is happy to help with it.

4th of July 2010
This was our first 4th of July as a family of 4. We celebrated by going to Brad's parents house for a cookout with them and Brad's brother, his wife and our niece Cameron. It was a nice relaxing afternoon spending sometime with the family. Even though we all live in the same town, our schedules make it hard for us all to get together at the same time.
Below is our family photo just before we left to head back to our house.
Looks like Hudson partied a little too much at the cookout!
Austin enjoyed eating corn on the cob for the first time (normally I shave it for him). He was a pro at it! We ended up having a picnic in my in-laws front room
Hudson and Grandpa hanging out manning the grill
Hudson and Daddy. I just love how Daddy is the one who always ends up in the photos with the boys. Never any pics of Mommy with the boys-I guess that's probably because Mommy is the crazy lady running around snapping a million pictures. Even though Brad gives me a hard time about always taking so many photos I know one day we will look back and be so glad that I did.
Here is Grandma with Hudson in there matching t-shirts
Of course Austin was not interested in playing in the pool when he had his swimsuit on, but once his street clothes were back on he wanted nothing more than to get in and swim.
Look at that little face.
He looks like he is thinking "haha Mom, I'm in the pool and Grandpa said it was ok"
My boy is such a little ham
Here is my niece Cameron napping on the sofa
Hudson hanging out
Austin coloring and playing with stickers trying to wait patiently for dinner
We left the in-laws and headed back home right around dark-so Austin was able to see some of the fireworks around town on our drive home. We were not sure what he would think about them, since he has never really been around them. But he loved them, so when we got home we sat in the driveway and watched people shooting them off for about and hour. Austin was too cute he would point every time they went off and say "boom, wow, or pretty". Half the time he didn't know where to point since they were going off in every direction. Hudson feel asleep on our way home so he missed the fireworks this year. I cant wait to see both boys reaction to the fireworks next year.

Brotherly Love
Austin really loves his "Bo-Bo" (as he calls him). This morning while Hudson was laying on the floor playing Austin walked over and gave him a kiss on the forehead.
Austin wanted to read to Brother
How sweet is this. They are holding hands
Hudson loves watching Austin no matter what he is doing.
